Sleeping early has a lot of benefits healthwise. The benefits extend towards the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of your being. Yet, statistics show a disturbing trend: More and more people are staying up late and sleeping late. No wonder we have so many health problems nowadays! Productivity has also dropped, and depression rates are rising. Could all this be related to so many people sleeping late?
When you sleep early, you align your body cycles with the earth’s natural cycles. Our body’s cycles are ruled by the circadian rhythm, and this is naturally set against the earth’s 24 hour rotation cycle. Sleeping late skews the cycle and puts our body out of sync. This can result in many health problems, chief of all, is premature aging.
To understand things better, sleeping early aids in the undisrupted production of melatonin and growth hormone, two hormones that are largely released when we sleep, and crucial to keeping aging at bay. A decrease of such hormones can have serious consequences for our health.
